The beaches

Whether public or private, you’ll fall under their spell!

Between Cannes La Bocca to the west and Golfe Juan to the east, the Bay of Cannes boasts around fifty beaches, with something to satisfy everyone. Mostly located between the Palais des Festivals and Palm Beach, the 33 private beaches are urban and boast a restaurant. The most famous are located along La Croisette and are managed by the luxury hotels (Martinez, Majestic and Carlton).

Cannes has 13 public beaches and one municipally-owned beach. More relaxed, the public beaches are spread out between the Trou de l’Ancre on the border of Mandelieu and the Mourre Rouge port beyond the Pointe de la Croisette. Totally free of charge with showers available, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to sunbathe. Two public beaches are located along La Croisette – the Plage du Palais des Festivals, pleasant with its gentle slope ideal for bathing, and the highly popular Plage de la Croisette Est at the end of the promenade before Port Canto. For a more tranquil experience, head to the beaches around the Pointe de la Croisette and those of the Boulevard du Midi west of Suquet (10 minutes from the Yolande and La Loggia residences). Bearing the Handiplage label, Bijou Plage is designed for people with disabilities. It is also non-smoking, like the Plage du Rocher in La Bocca.
